If you are installing an aftermarket fuel pump such as a FASS or Air dog, you will have to drop your fuel tank to install the draw straw provided in the kit. This not only takes a lot of time but commonly results in a quarter tank issue if not done perfectly.

The (Quater Tank Issue) is when the truck's fuel level gauge says you still have a quarter tank of fuel but the truck runs out of fuel while driving down the road. This symptom is caused by either the draw straw moving back and forth while the tank flexes and the fuel sloshed side to side causing the pickup tube to suck air.

Or it is caused because the draw straw was cut too short.
